You are preaching to a converted in this video. Thank you showing others what I call the many little pictures inside the big picture, basically my (something to do) photography thing. There are always countless little pictures to be made when the one or two BIG landscape photos does not happen for whatever reason. There are also great lessens in the way you cropped the images . Good one!

There’s something about texture and detail in the images that make you want to touch and feel. A completely different emotional experience to landscapes. In my opinion anyhow. Thanks Adam.

Thanks for this video! I’m just catching up on your channel. The diopter sounds interesting, not sure if I would get it. But something to consider when doing something like a backpacking trip. I have been mainly using extension tubes with my telephoto zoom. I used to have a nice Canon macro I carried over to my Fuji system, but one of the recent firmware updates made it impossible to focus it, even in manual mode.

You guys should get into infrared photography, that way you can photograph at all times of the day (it's great in mid-day sunlight).

I don't know if it's just me but I almost always prefer your raw images over the processed ones.

I enjoy taking these minimalist pattern style of photograph but when I see a pro photographer taking them I often wonder what they do with the image. Is there much commercial value to them, other than just being part of a youtube video?

“Taffany patterns” again, sent me off once more on a fruitless search for the origin of the term. The closest I came was a somewhat derogatory term for a Welshman. Another possibility is the resemblance to the texture of taffy candy. More entertaining however, are the rhymes in which the victim of the thieving Welshman Taffy extracts revenge.

Have you considered converting one of your Fuji \XT-somethings to Infrared? Harsh mid-day summer light is made for IR mages. Plus, it's an entirely new method of processing, which exercises the old noodle and creates new inspiration.

I think looking for comps on a "boring" day is fun. You usually find things you end up liking.

Loved all the patterns and textures, I'm always a sucker for those two items. I'm curious, did you ever consider that the natural elements (trees, water, beach, driftwood, etc) have a discussion as a photographer approaches. Perhaps to agree that "this one has potential?" Just a thought, Bill

Nice work sir! Looking into the backpack, looks like you're over the one-lens-challenge ;-) I love the image @ 19:50. The little knot left of center looks like the eye of a gull to me. Like it is poking its beak into reeds or something hiding the front of its face. The water-scoured images remind me of similar red formations here at "Valley of Fire". More please!

All great shots but I particularly loved the one at 19:55. It reminded me of a waterfall under colourful fall light. Any updates on when the new book will be shipping? No pressure, I'm just really looking forward to it, given how much I have enjoyed your first book, 'Quiet Light'.

It's funny, I too enjoy shooting patterns and small details. I try to make a point to incorporate both when I'm out and about. Finding something small and seemingly insignificant is much like finding an unusual composition that most people wouldn't notice. Nothing I hate worse than coming home with a shot that's already been made. ☺️ Great video Adam!

A photographer once told me, it's not about meeting your expectation or your favorite light, it's your ability to deal with every hard situation 😁 it seems a little theoretical, but maybe too right to say.

Nice one buddy. The last tree shot is really wonderful. I felt like you were speaking directly to me at the beginning, sunsets well after 10pm and sunrises before 04:30, although it is getting better day by day.
